Hello Colleen,
I finished chemo 2 years ago - AC (after cancer) began May 1, 2018. The following week, I had CT scans and blood work. Several new nodules appeared in my other lung. My pulmonologist and I decided to wait the 3 months until another scan, to see if the nodules changed - they did. The concern was spread of my cancer to my lungs. I had another lung biopsy; the outcome is that I had gotten a different NTM in my other lung and so I went back on the meds. So yes, my weakened immune system resulted in me picking up a different NTM bacteria! (Better than lung cancer.) I rarely went anyplace while on chemo so I think I picked up the new NTM in the hospital. I'll have more to tell you about this but am needed elsewhere just now.
So great to hear from you!!

Hello Dianemarcia, my life was turned upside down on Feb 27 when I went to the bathroom in the morning and it was all blood. No other symptoms. Went to hospital and colonoscopy confirmed relatively small cancer lesion. 2 weeks later had right colectomy that also determined that cancer had spread to one out of 11 lymph nodes. Needed 6 weeks to recover before chemo. Had chest port inserted last week for chemo infusions. Today was my first treatment. Am on Folfox. spent all morning at infusion center then they sent me home with pump for another 48 hours. Will need to return to center on Saturday for them to remove pump. I'm scheduled for chemo every 2 weeks for 3-6 months. As I've heard from others, this is pretty standard stuff. I feel ok now but obviously it's too early to know what issues will manifest down the road. Most likely nausea, diarrhea, headaches, sensitively to cold, fatigue and neuropathy. They gave oral meds for nausea, need to watch what I eat and drink oceans of water. Hope your treatment goes smoothly and we both end up cancer free! kismak

Went thru stage 4 colon cancer then 2 years after the resection a tumor showed up in my liver. They removed half of my liver. Went thru chemo both times. That was over 20 years ago. Checkup every year since then, so far so good.
Hang in there. Treatment has much improved since then and I have to believe there is something that will keep you in remission for good.
Was you cancer sgressive ? bRAF
The can never do surgery like that because it would spread likeailfire
