How about a laugh, (hopefully)

Posted by Leonard @jakedduck1, Dec 31, 2018

I believe laughter is the best medicine. Laughter has actually been scientifically proven to help people with depression issues.
Let’s give it a try so we can all get happy and feel better. Many Epilepsy forums I’ve been on had joke sections. I was probably the biggest joke of all since I didn’t get a lot of the jokes. They said the jokes couldn’t be above 4th grade level for me to understand them so my jokes may be rather simplistic but let’s give it a try.
Have a lovely day everyone,
Jake

@jakedduck1 Well, I carry a knife everyday. A knife has been daily part of my life since age 10, when my dad allowed me to get my first folding Case knife at Thrifty Drug Store [funny how some moments stay in your memory].

This won't be funny but it's about carrying a knife. I'm not sure how old I was, but very young. I always carried a pocket knife. My wife gave me a "Buck-Brand" knife for our 20th anniversary.(1980). 10 years later I lost it while helping a friend pour concrete.(1990) He replaced it with the exact same model. I still carry it "everyday" nearly 30 years later. I'd feel naked without it. oldbuck

It may not be appropriate but it's as close as I come to having written a "joke". Well most of what I've written is a joke but I mean "on purpose". It may seem long but that's just my style. :o)
A Short Indian Tale

I Iook out of my window
As my leaves blow across the lawn
Some go into my neighbor’s yard
I laugh, lean back and yawn.

We seem to be having
Extended Indian summer
Dec 4 with local temps
Mid 60’s now they hover

But that brought to mind
Our recent Thanksgivings day
And the sturdy Indian bucks
Some say came that day

They couldn’t have been all grown
Nor wearing a big head-dress
There would have been some ladies
Dressed proudly in a doeskin dress

Strapped upon their sturdy backs
A youngster safe and sound
His tan cheeks and tiny eyes
Just looking all around.

This lead me to a tale
Of a young papoose buck
Who lived a privileged life
With almost daily luck

But yet at times
Things may not work
Oft times there’s just
Some silly quirk.

A warm, herbal beverage
As he went to sleep
Settled him down
Without a peep.

He went to bed
In the Chief’s wig-wam
But woke some mornings
In his own “tea-pee”. :o(

They probably don't know who you are so they can't thank you, but I will thank you for them. It is a lovely and handy tool to have for sure.
Are you carrying the new on in it's "leather" sheath? Carry it in good health my friend. oldbuck

@1oldbuck In typical Native tradition, I usually carry two knives. One just for food, one for everything else. It's a habit from my youth. It was really tough during the years I worked in the courthouse, since they had to stay in the car.

Loved the Ventriloquists Monkey video. I laughed and laughed. I always wonder how they sing so well with their mouth shut. :o)
I must however admit, my wife likes my singing best when I keep my mouth shut. ;o(
