Using pulsating electro-magnetic fields as an adjunct in treating CLL

Posted by bullwinkle @bullwinkle, Dec 11, 2018

I currently have unmutated IGHV trisomy 12 with 11q deletion. I was diagnosed in 2012 and have going to Mayo Clinic in Rochester. At the end January i will commence treatment. I have been using a pulsating electro-magetic field device since April 2018 and my blood picture has been stable over that 7 month period of time. Has anyone else been using a similar device?

Hello @bullwinkle, welcome to Connect. If you don't mind me asking and if you are comfortable sharing, what treatment will you be undergoing in January? Also, was the EMF device prescribed by your provider, or was it something you tried as an alternative treatment?

I may be in a trial which would consist of either Venetoclax,Ibrutinib, and gazyva or Ibrutinib and gazyva. I did the PEMF on my own. It is interesting to note that my Leukocyte count in April was 152 and my LDH was 416. I just returned from Mayo's and after 7 months my leukocyte count is 125 and my LDH is 358. Not something you would expect with my diagnosis.

@bullwinkle Seems like this is a perfect example of finding the right prescription that suits our particular case. Wishing you best of luck with your future treatments. Thank you for sharing your experiences.

Your post prompted me to look for references showing theory supporting such therapy. I didn't find anything. By the way, as a radio person I have a lifetime of experience with electromagnetic fields. So can you post something? Please?

There are no supporting references to support what I am doing. I am doing this on my own and and after using my device for over 7 months I have slowed the disease process and in some cases reversed it. This is based only on the results of the blood workups that I had at Mayo's. It certainly, as I see it not a cure all by any means, but the fact that I have seen some positive results after 6 1/2 years of coping with this disease probably merits further exploration of PEMFS. Anyhow, if you want more information on what I am doing feel free to ask. Thanks for your interest.
