@godfather2- Please do not be alarmed. Ground glass is a description of cell change. When it is tiny like yours is, as the radiologist says, "it is likely benign." Ground Glass doesn't necessarily mean cancer. If the radiologist suspected cancer a biopsy ordered would probably be performed. Your GG is LESS than a less (sub) half-inch.

I have lung cancer and have several GG. It is a particular kind of lung cancer. If they grow more than a certain amount then they are considered cancer.

What type of doctor ordered your CT scan?

@godfather2 - Good morning. As members, we can only share our own health experiences and are not able to provide a medical diagnosis, prognosis, or read the results of tests. I still suggest that you need to include your PCP and see a Pulmonologist.

Are you having a problem with breathing on a daily basis? Have you been given any inhalers?

Hello @godfather2

I would agree with Merry, @merpreb. I had a CT scan a number of years ago which was not done specifically for the lungs, however, the ground glass did show up and also on several other CT scans later on. I have not had any lung cancer in all of these years.

I can certainly understand your concern, though. When I was first aware of these findings, I did consult with a pulmonologist. I would encourage you to get a second opinion to put your mind at ease.

@godfather2- Good morning. There is no reason to apologize. I think that wanting answers to things that we do not understand is very natural. This is what Connect tries to do, to guide you so that you have answers. I am also a former smoker. But there are findings that people who have had covid-19 have lung changes. It really is best to have a second opinion by a lung expert. Can you ask your PCP for a referal?

@godfather2- Seeing GGO is not surprising after having COVID-19. There are all sorts of changes in the lungs and connecting pipes that are being found as a result of COVID-19. I'm so happy that you have found a pulmonologist!

Hello @godfather2. I am pleased that you have an appointment on Monday. I hope that you are able to get some answers to your many questions about the GGO that has recently shown up. Will you be so kind as to post an update as to what you learn on Monday?
