Cookies sound delicious. Thank you for sharing the recipe
Hope you haven't made them yet. It should be 1/4 t salt, not 1/2 t. Sorry!

@kay 57. I did a little research over the holidays and fresh cilantro, basil and bay leaf should have no sugars. Cloves has about the same is cinnamon, so should be ok. I have yet to try these.

Thanks so much for you thoughtful message. I hadn't thought of making cinnamon "tea"; eat cinnamon every day. Don't think ginger would agree. Do you have fructose malabsorption?
Is anyone taking one of the medications available for IBS? The Low FODMAP diet is not working out for me and I am going to discuss options (including meds) with my doctor. Would like to know others’ experiences.
Medicines used depend on the symptoms you have. As for the diet, I tried it on my own and it was a total disaster until I went under guidance of a nutritionist.
What medicines do you have in mind? I take some for g.i. issues, need to know what ones you are interested in.. Low FODMAP diet didn't work for me either; it was too inclusive of stuff I couldn't eat.
I'm glad you found a nutritionist that would work for you. I went to 4 different ones for fructose malabsorption, and they all told me I should be able to eat stuff I couldn't digest. One locally didn't charge me because she said she learned more from me than I did from her. Funny, but that's how much fructose malabsorption is such a new area and I believe overlooked. The symptoms can be terrible.
