Has anyone experienced internal vibrations?
I started having the only way I can explain it is internal vibrations. I've had them for 3 months now, I went to t hihe ER and they told me it was anxiety. A doctor diagnosed me at a clinic as having Lyme disease I've started a 21-day prescription of Doxycycline I'm on day 7. I went to a psychiatrist a week ago to get something because of my nerves are just over the brink. He prescribed me Gabapentin and Valium I've only been on them a few days.
Has anyone experienced these internal vibrations?I have them almost 24/7 chest neck stomach from the hips down. I have more lab tests that should be in today, but the doctor's office said that they would not call unless there was some abnormality in the lab work.

My symptoms are very similar to yours. I have suffered for years from the internal vibrations, tinnitus and arms falling asleep. It too has taken a toll on me. I have been to countless doctors and naturopaths with no happy results. Recently, I came across an article discussing low stomach acid. I never would have thought that this is something I have, as I do not have reflux, however after doing several morning tests with baking soda, (you can google this) I have finally found some relief. I am taking absorbic acid in the form of vitamin C with my breakfast and dinner meals. I am also taking a digestive enzyme. The idea is that the increase in stomach acid helps food and nutrition to be broken down easier. For me, I believe that improperly digested food is causing intolerances that are causing my tremors. I am also taking Vitamin d and the sublingual form of B12. It has only been two weeks and I do have a little shaking upon waking, but I feel that I am headed in the right direction to getting better. Good luck to you in finding help.
Did you ever get a diagnosis? I haven't started yet. I have had for about 6 most and also have tinnitus. Both are nerve racking.
Just touching base since It’s been a few months. Finished up a long golf season and was able to walk many 7 mile rounds without muscular issues prohibiting me, like I would have been faced with in the spring when my thighs would have splitting pain and I would collapse. In the evenings when resting, my calves did act up but nothing horrific.
Lately, I have felt in poor health overall...fatigue, some tinnitus, severe pain to the touch on some small areas of skin and aching in general on my skin overall. Accompanying this has been a flare up in worse calve activity at rest. I am still able to get around alright, but the nights are getting annoying and I’m not happy about the direction things are taking again. Last night I woke up with sweating lower legs because the muscles were so active, and I can feel the popcorn as I type this.
I have found since the beginning of my fight with this, almost exactly a year ago, that it waxes and wanes along with how I feel in general. Every few weeks I have peaks and valleys of fatigue, aches etc and along with that usually follows the severity of the fasciculations. Such is the mystery of BFS.
Hello @kmcalla and welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect. I see that you have connected with a post from @cathy514 regarding your similar symptoms of viberations and tinnitus and are curious if she has received a diagnosis since that post in 2018.
If you're comfortable answering, what have you been doing to address your symptoms since their onset 6 months ago? Have you made an appointment to see a doctor?
deb3, review these links for a possible solution for your digestive issues and for the others, for example, search "tinnitus thiamine" to see if it can help. Remember, thiamine like vitamin D requires magnesium to become bioactive. Fat soluble forms pass through the blood/brain barrier more efficiently than water soluble forms. Always consult with your health care professional before using any supplement.

I did some tests and my thyroid hormones were high but they’re now better but I still have the vibrations and insomnia. I’ve done ecg and seven tests but they were all fine . I don’t know what to do
Curious how you managed to lower toThyroid.Sent via my Samsung Galaxy, an AT&T 4G LTE smartphone

Hello @rahmah, I would like to add my welcome to Connect along with @manila and other members. You mentioned that you had some tests and your thyroid hormone levels were high but now they are better but you are still having the vibrations and insomnia. Did your doctor prescribe a treatment that brought down the thyroid hormone levels? Have you mentioned that you are still having vibrations and insomnia to your doctor?
I would love to hear more about anyone's healing. I also have internal shaking. It is impossible to describe to someone looking at me because they cannot see it. Yet, inside of me, my body is shaking like crazy..... like a car engine revved up full blast. I feel like my heart cannot continue to take all this stress that is on it. I do not want to go to a psychiatrist and get meds to calm my nerves. I believe medicine is, by far, a last resort. What natural means has anyone used to reduce this tension? Do you know what I am talking about?
Not being facetious at all, but what was a huge help to me, mentally, was realizing that I’m not dying from it and it isn’t taking my mobility degeneratively. Is it highly disturbing and disruptive and trying on the patience? Absolutely, but, at the end of the day it’s nothing that is genuinely nasty in most cases. Also there is hope that it will subside, lessen, or at least wax and wane (like in my case).
The insomnia is tough because you know it’s going to get worse when you lay down and your brain slows, so you don’t want to do it... that’s when it rears up, just as you enter sleep. Still, even though I am where I am mentally now, I don’t sleep until I’m basically going to keel over. Combination of my gabapentin and knowing that, at rest the vibrations amplify. It’s also counter productive since there is a solid informal link between adequate rest and lessening vibrations and fasciculations.
Just as a quick recap for those who don’t know or remember my prior posts, I’ve just passed the 1 year mark of a monthlong mystery illness that walloped me, followed by severe internal vibrations including vocal cords, neck, throat, head and chest in addition to the more common leg and arm areas. Had every test under the sun and all were fine, which led to two independent neuro provided BFS / CBFS diagnoses.
One year ago I was bed ridden, crying non stop, scared out of my mind, 2-3 doctors per week, and felt like I was dying of something. Even when I tried to get around my legs would cramp and shake and give out. My nights were a hell of vibrating and waking up screaming with my voice fluttering from the vocal cords fasciculating. My thighs would wake up my wife from vibrating. I tried to walk outside and would collapse from the thigh and leg pain.
Now, my legs buzz often, most of the time one muscle somewhere is going nuts (my left foot arch is bumping and popping as I type this), but my mind and body have improved enough that I got to the point where I’d walk 7 miles golfing 2-3 times a week all fall, and now I’ve been skiing 3 times this winter.
Hang in there. Follow up with your medical team and get any testing they suggest, which will likely put your mind more at ease and/or help you if something simple can be done like a vitamin or hormonal correction.
