Gratitude Discussion Group
Hi everyone! Just before Thanksgiving @michellegraffradford posted a blog called Gratitude Changes Everything. She suggested three techniques to help incorporate gratitude into our daily lives:
- Start the Day with Gratitude (before getting up think of three people you are grateful for)
- Maintain a Gratitude Journal to record times when you are grateful
- Count Blessings – not sheep! (Review the day and remember moments of gratitude)
Her blogpost was so inspiring that a lot of us decided we wanted to form a Gratitude Group to keep the attitude of gratitude going. The blogpost area is not an ideal space for a big discussion group so I am moving the discussion over here to the “Just Want to Talk” Group. Let’s use this space to share and discuss our Gratitude Journey. I’m going to suggest that we each try to take a minute from the day and post here what has made us feel thankful today. It can be as small as a stranger’s smile on the bus or as large as fulfilling a major life dream – or anywhere in between. We can also discuss how we are doing with the three techniques. Sometimes it is easier to form new habits with support from others.
Michelle's full blogpost is at the link below. You may want to review it or print it out to help get started!

I look forward to hearing from others in the Gratitude Group and to having others join us here! Thanks to those who already shared great stories. If you haven't yet, what gratitude will you share today?!

That was my warped sense of humor.
Maybe someday I’ll learn to keep my big mouth shut. My sincere apologies @sueinmn.
Again, congratulations on your 49th anniversary, thats a long time. I was reading today and saw that Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter had been married for 74 years, you don’t here of that very often.

I haven't seen your name for a while, but I think of you from time to time when I'm out working in the yard, moving hoses. If I remember correctly, you were having some landscape challenges post fire season. I've wondered how the tree and shrubbery selection and planting are going, with a nosy neighbor watching over the fence., and if you've found a good quality hose that doesn't spring leaks.
I finished putting my soaker hoses and garden hoses in the barn for the winter yesterday. During the summer I had to repair two of my best hoses, but I guess that it's inevitable after 10+ years of use. Most soakers don't last very many years, but I found a good quality soaker that lasts longer and doesn't kink or develop geysers unless I'm not paying close enough attention. Trouble is that I can't remember the brand to order more. I guess that will be one of my winter chores, to research and find out where I got them.
I hope you had an enjoyable summer.

Your right I hurt back in Pa from the winter weather .
Grateful to have been able to do Halloween cookies with both of my grandkids. We had a delightful time. Hoping to make my grandson's soccer game this afternoon. He is 5 and the games don't last long. Pacing myself this morning. See the pain specialist on Tuesday. Hoping he may have some other suggestions to improve the pain level. Is what it is and I am thankful for the things I can do.
Am so grateful for the little ones I care for...ages 1, 3 and 10. They help me laugh and act like a kid.💞
I am grateful for 🎃 HALLOWEEN👻
CANDY CANDY CANDY CANDY CANDY
I hope no trick-or-treaters show up.
Ditto Jake😆🙌
I am grateful for nice weather today. It means we will be able to host an outdoor picnic and trick or treat candy hunt for our daughters and grands today.

I am grateful that we had 5 little trick or treaters with their parents all masked up with costumes to get some treats. 3 were my friends daughters girls all under 6 years old, dressed up as the 3 blind mice, including sunglasses on each of them. It really brought a smile to my face as we placed the bags of candy in their little pumpkin buckets. Sigh, not much candy went out the door and my wife took it to work with her early this morning -- yup, I'm grateful for that also. 😉
