Mucus just in my throat
Hi Friends
Thank you for all the help! I don’t cough up mucus, I just always have this choking mucus in my throat. I can’t blow it out of my nose. I have to snort it through my nose into my throat and then I can get rid of it. I have been on the big three since July and I was rid of the mucus for three months and now it is back. It started up when I got a slight cold about six weeks ago and I still have it. Any help?

Hi @helem. It must be frustrating and irritating to have so much trouble with mucus being stuck in your throat.
I wanted to tag fellow Connect members @haiku444 @flib and @papillion as they have experience with this same issue.
Have you spoken to your doctor about this?
I will call my doctor.
Thanks for the nudge. I have an appointment with the pulmonologist

@helem Hi Helen. Do you do the nebulize sodium chloride? (Saline) sometimes that can help clean out the gunk. Even though one inhales the saline into the lungs; it also seems to clear out the sinuses and throat.
@helem Helen, another thing to try is avoid sugars and gluten. But mostly sugars. Sugar os the main thing that puts phlegm in your throat when you have mac or pseudomonas. I used to describe it as having cobwebs in my throat.
I see the Pulmonogist and I’ll talk to him about nebulizibg. Thanks!
Thanks. I’ll look I to it.
Hi Terri,
Experiencing some mucus in my throat. Just hanging there. Never happened before. I nebulize 2x daily with 7% saline. Looks like there’s some small light yellow floaties in it when I cough it out. Do you think it’s just a fluke? Thks Bon
