How did you manage the pain side effects of Prolia?
I had prolia injection a week ago. I've developed lower back pain and severe spasms. The spasms are so bad I can hardly get out of bed or even out of a chair. Is there anything I can do or take to alleviate this awful pain.

@contentandwell, @lioness, @parrotqueen, First of all I'm sorry parrotqueen that you lost your parrot. I had to give up my dog because I couldn't take care of her anymore. But she's at where we use to board her and they love her and she's doing great!! I don't think you know me, but I'm having pre-op tests on Monday at Mayo and surgery on the 9th and 11th.
Anyway, we all talk about the Covid-19 virus and I know it's bad, but there are more people that die from the flu then the virus. We just have to take care and not let it get to us. Wear mask, use santizier (SP), wash your hands etc. I hear it over and over. I guess I use my faith and don't worry about it. But, I can understand why people do, because it's all over the news and everywhere.
@lilypaws I dont know where my post went but will repeat here . The flu virus yes kills people but this virus is so much worse then just the flu so it is important to protect ourselves God gave each person the knowledge to help . Where would we be without the Dr., nurses or scientist with all there knowledge to bring sick people back to some sort of normalcy . It is wonderful to believe and have faith that God will see us through but we have to do our part also. Bless you and I will be praying for you on the 9th and 11th .
@parrotqueen I think many of us older people have become hermits. I feel like I am in prison. Granted, it's a nice, spacious prison but not being able to be out and about is very tiresome.
We had a delivery this morning from Whole Foods, much of it produce. As I thoroughly washed everything I said to my husband that the old people will be the survivors because we are the ones being the most cautious -- us and my son who tends to be a bit germaphobic.
By the way, do you know that prunes have been shown to help osteoporosis also? Unfortunately they have their own side-effects. They are recommended on a number of sites, one being NOF -- National Osteoporosis Foundation.
@lilypaws @lioness The number comparisons between flu and COVID deaths are taking into account a full year of flu deaths, whereas the numbers from COVID are for a much shorter period. The other problem is that COVID is so much more contagious, plus of course we do have a vaccine for the flu that is relatively effective most years for people who get it.
When did you ever hear of stacks of coffins outside of hospitals as they were in NYC, and mass graves for flu victims? When did you hear of hospitals having to choose which victims of the flu to save and which to let go?
JK
@contentandwell I know this is such a terrible disease and as you said so contagious . I feel for those people who cant even see there loved ones when death is near . God Bless us all
@lioness You are so right. With this one ( the Covid-19) you have to keep your distance and all the reason. Plus you can't go see your family. It really is the pits, but I won't lose my faith in God. Some feel everyone will get the virus, but not as bad as it is now. I don't know about that and we are really opening up. Take care and I'm positive about my surgery. I'm looking forward getting out of this house and being in a hotel for a few days, even if one day I have a whole bunch of test. Jeanie
@contentandwell. I didn't say anything about coffins being stacked outside of hospitals, I only know of NYC. And I never said anything about mass graves for flu victims. So, I don't know where those ideas came from, pretty weird to me. But I didn't post them.
@lilypaws . Absolutely not dont ever lose you faith and God HE/SHE is to important in out lives . I would be looking forward to getting out of the house too. Something good will happen to you once you have these test done another step to feeling better . I just got a wireless printer by Cannon with my stim. check and finally go it all set up . I put the app on my phone and sent one of my pictures from my gallery and lo and behold it printed my picture . Happy dance . Good luck with the test . Linda
@lioness just saw your comment about your girlfriend almost dying from a Prolia injection. My doctor wants me to have one if and when I stop Prolia injections in July. It's bad enough worrying about Covid! How old is your friend (I am 65) and did she end up in the hospital after getting Reclast. It does have loads of side effects when you research it. Glad you are coping well during the pandemic.
@lioness I meant to say "from the Reclast" regarding your friend.
@sue225 She is 76 now at that time she was 57 I think . They did keep her in the hospital for a couple of hours but when she felt better they said she could go but call or come back if she felt worse . THey told her to drink plenty of water too. Some people will react differently but for her it was horrible . Depends on the persons makeup
