Art for Healing
Kudos to the Montreal Museum of Fine Art for allowing physicians to write prescriptions for free admission to the museum. And kudos to Mayo Clinic for its art program. From the beginning, Mayo Clinic believed that art can uplift patients and foster healing. Whether it's Rochester, Jacksonville or Scottsdale, Mayo Clinic displays a wide range of artwork for patients. The Rochester site published a brochure for a self-guided tour of artwork. I live in Rochester and every time I'm at Mayo, I take the time to look at the artwork.

@lioness Thank you for your kind words. I no longer do the gallery thing. I am doing okay. Just taking things slow and easy. Have you been able to see your grandson lately? My grandson and his family have all had this virus so I am back to weekly visits most of the time. He is my best medicine. He recently turned six and so delight in having conversations with him. He is like talking to an adult only with the fresh, uninhibited imagination of a six year old. We like many of the same things and have fun sharing our own brand of humor.
I have days where my energy allows returning here and I am always thankful to see some of the old gang around along with the newbies. This cyber-table is always available.

@lioness How interesting that we both ran into one another. Glad you are back. I am glad you have returned. Yes, I have mostly been MIA. At best I am sporadic.
Hello @parus. I'm a newbie on this site, although I've been posting on several other Mayo Connect sites for a few months. I was pleased to learn today that there was an art site too. I've had a great career as an artist, but like you, unable to keep up with the gallery thing anymore. I miss painting and teaching and often wish that I might at least get back to some painting one of these days. Your painting of the horse is just awesome!
what a wonderful group! I do acrylic painting and photography now, I will share some of my art soon!
Looking forward to seeing your art soon!
I just invited all the artists from our walking group to come here and join the artsy discussions! This way they can meet lots of different artists.
I’m trying to developer a pattern to make a fabric portrait of my little rescue dog. It’s harder than I thought!
Hi Becky, A couple years ago I copied a friend's watercolor landscape into fabric. First I sketched the painting onto a muslin, then auditioned the fabrics for each element, and finally layered the fabrics onto the muslin, stitching each one down. All that's left is is to add the embellishments with other threads. I'll look for it tomorrow.

@sueinmn I haven’t done a landscape quilt in years—they can be difficult. Right now I’m working on a pattern for a fabric portrait of my dog. Mostly I do art quilts. This is a photoshop picture of Poppy that I’m trying to make the pattern from
