Uterine Papillary Serous Carcinoma: What treatments did you have?
Is there anyone out there who has gone through the treatments for this? I have had surgery , and chemo taxes/carboplatin. Radiation is suggested but no one seems to have any data to refer to as we are such a small group I’m guessing. Very nervous moving forward as to what to do.

yes it was 2 years remission for me too then ... of all unheard of things it appeared as a small tumor in my left cerebellum!! the oncologist was stunned.. did surgery and the tumor just popped out and no signs anywhere else of it! no further treatment as they are going to take the watch and see approach 🤷♀️ oh and 5 weeks after my original brain surgery i had to get it all done again due to infection🥱 but onward and upward I say.. thanks for thinking of us!
Oh, Golden Girl 2, I am so very sorry to hear this news. You have been through a really rough time. I’m adding you and polkagal to my prayer list again. Can I ask how you knew about the tumor? Was it your CA-125 or did you have physical symptoms? I’m so glad your surgery was successful. May this remission be forever.
Dear Polkagal, thank you for your good thoughts. I have been NED for 3-1/2 years now. And my energy and stamina have finally increased. I did a walk again for Foundation for Women’s Cancer a few weeks ago. Last year I did it with my sister in Washington, D.C. This year it was virtual. I walked for you and golden girl 2 again. I haven’t actually started with SHARE’s helpline yet. I have been working on other projects. I check in with SHARE’s support group every once in a while and I never miss their presentations by doctors on uterine cancer and preventing its recurrence. Sending love and light to you and golden girl 2. xo
my CA 125 has never been higher than 18 even when they discovered the uterine cancer.. it was steady at 10 for 2 years now it’s 12??? I found i was losing balance, was nauseous after exercise and my head felt “ off” an mri discovered the tumor.. i m happy to hear your energy is back. i was also feeling so good and ready to compete in triathlons again but c’est la vie! i continue to use the turkey tail and the other mushroom supplement . think of you and polka gal often. what other tips have you picked up for staving off recurrence.?
I still meet with my alternative medicine MD every three months in addition to seeing either an oncologist or the Women’s Cancer Center of Seattle Physician’s Assistant every three months. I still take 15 Coriolus supplements and 8 Reishi Gano supplements a day. I’ve been following Dr. Fuhrman’s nutritarion diet for 7 years now and stopped drinking any alcohol 4-1/2 years ago. During this COVID lockdown I’ve done a lot of work on healing trauma in my 2nd chakra and in sound healing. I’m working with infrared light. Actually, none of these ideas are from SHARE. They are from other resources.
We are on the same page and i firmly believe it has kept it away from my pelvic area for 2 years now.. the brain one popped out easily so o consider it another bmp in the road.. 😁
I need to start meditating again because I think that that is a big part of staying NED. Also, I drink a glass of green tea every day. I don't like the taste of it so I mix it with hibiscus tea. I hope that there are no more bumps in your road of health!
@goldengirl I am so sorry to hear this. But I am glad that it was treatable, that it requires no further treatment, and that you are once again on the road to recovery 😊 I will continue to keep you in my prayers, and I send hugs your way! This cancer thing...so unpredictable, always lurking it seems. Reminds us to always be mindful. So thankful you are ok, goldengirl!!
@embeth so glad to hear you are 3 1/2 yrs NED 😊 That's great that your energy and stamina have increased! Woo-hoo for doing that walk, thank you! Are SHARE'S presentations accessible to anyone? I enjoyed the one you sent the link for back when you first told us about your involvement with SHARE. Keeping you in my prayers, too, and sending you hugs as well!
