Neuropathy pain.
Hello, I have had this so called"neuropathy" for almost two years now, it began in dec 2016, symptoms got worse over the next few months, my a miracle, my symptom subsided in June last year, however, symptoms returned with a vengeance in November last year, almost 6 months symptoms free. I have severe burning and very painful tingling sensa.tions in my feet, primarily my right foot, left foot I can bear, in fact when I'm out and about, I don't feel symptoms in my left foot, but right foot is hell. Have tried , I think everything this planet can offer, now I'm on gabapentin, 800 mg 4 times a day, tried, duloxetine, tried amytriptyline , neurologists last year said I had axonal sensory neuropathy, skin biopsy last year, negative for small fiber, ncv this year was fine. I'm now seeing as a last resort a chiropractor specializing in neuropathy and I'm undergoing laser and electrotherapy. Can someone recommend other meds that can help, this pain is really excruciating. So far my hands are clear.

Hank @jesfactsmon. You’re welcome! Everyone should think about all being reported. Let’s hope that all is being reported. Get as much truthful facts as possible before coming to a conclusion. I have always taken my time with my decisions to avoid regrets. I believe many people take information for granted. That is why we see so many fraudulent practices. If someone was trying to sell me a car that ran on water, would I just hand over the money? No, I would want to see the proof for myself first. We do the best we can. The coronavirus is a delicate subject because of so much uncertainty. Last night I stumbled onto new information to me. About a month ago it was said that no quarantine would be necessary for persons exposed to the coronavirus who either had the coronavirus illness( because of built immunity) within the last 90 days or who had the 2nd dose of the vaccine at least 2 weeks prior to the exposure. Now I hear that those people do not need to quarantine only if they have no symptoms of the illness. What a mess! I thought some people can have the illness but present no symptoms. So how can we be certain of any immunity? And this is what the experts are advising? For now I don’t want to take any unnecessary chances with my health because of those uncertainties. That is my choice because it will be me that suffers any consequences not my medical advisors. Nothing can be done. I understand no legal action can be taken for any fatalities or adverse effects. No one can be held accountable. So we have to do what we think is best for us and be happy with our decision. Hank, take your time with your decision to be certain it is the right one for you. It won’t be easy. It sounds like you have to make a great effort in order to get the vaccine. You may not want to miss that opportunity. I made my choice based on my risk for getting the illness verses getting the vaccine(s). Basically it is the matter of the effects of the illness verses the effects of the vaccine. What will our bodies be able to handle? It is an individual decision. My best to you. Toni
@avmcbellar, There is so much information "out there" on the novel coronavirus and the vaccines. It seems everything I read is different. One would have to spend endless amounts of energy to get to the correct answer for that person. I read some of it but become aggravated that so much information is maybe this, maybe that, and hold on. I am holding on. I do plan to get the vaccine when I can. It is in short demand where we live and my husband is going to begin cataract surgery next week so I cannot afford any side affects. My primary responsibility is to my husband and our ailing dog. To take the vaccine is indeed an individual decision like many other medical decisions. We know we must achieve herd immunity, but there is so much we do not know. I think each of us will make an informed decision and someday we will be back to a new abnormal. I do not feel confident to say "normal." I feel we are changed forever. All of us must continue to do the best we can and from what I have read from the members, we will. All good wishes, @joybringer1
You are right @joybringer1 there is too much information out there..... much is ambiguous but we have to make the best judgment and hope for the best with our solution. My mother-in-law, who is 80, has a difficult time making any decision so she left it up to her doctors and plans to get the vaccine. I respect her decision. She asked me and I gave my reasoning. We all have different risks and health diagnoses for our reasons for or against the vaccine.
I think with the Spanish Flu (1918-1920) there may have been a few years of abnormality but eventually life went back to normal. At first I only heard of the Spanish Flu through my grandmother. I watch PBS last year with a special one hour show talking about the era and what is was like then. Millions of people died due to the Spanish Flu. Some of the comments my grandmother reported were true. The show mentioned the same. It was a totally different era. People did not have the technology of today but they managed with the masks and isolation.
Somethings I believe will remain in our society because of Covid-19 simply because of the ease and cost like ordering products online, streaming shows or movies, and working from home. Maybe even scheduling all appointments online will stay and some virtual medical appointments. We shall see... Best wishes to you for being there to help your husband and ailing dog. Toni

Hi Hank @jesfactsmon, I hope all is well with both you and Linda. I haven't read any posts from you lately and was wondering how you both are doing since getting your COVID shots. Both my wife and I have completed both Pfizer shots and also both Shingrix vaccines. Her twin sister got shingles and we both decided it was time for us to get the vaccine as we both know folks with shingles and it's not pretty.
Just wondering if you have run across any new helpful neuropathy tips to share with the group. Take care...
I've been on 900 mg of gaba 4 xs daily for a couple years now. Without it the pain is too intense to walk but with it I can function almost normally. I soak my feet in the eves in hot water with Epsom salts and use 4% lidocaine topical gel if they still hurt at night. Taking 600 mg of r alpha lipoic acid and 1000 mg id acetyl l carnitine and 800 mg of magnesium all these are daily. Tried ea , electro accupunture to no avail. Am looking into radio frequency ablation therapy. If anyone has experience with this therapy please let me know. Hang in there and keep learning and trying things. Johnmacc
