Hi @catherinelewis, welcome to Connect! It must scary having your blood pressure going up and down all the time, and not knowing why.

I’m tagging @hopeful33250 and @grandmar as they have some experience with electrical problems in the heart.

What have your doctors said about your blood pressure going up all the time?”

Hello @catherinelewis

I would like to add my welcome to you as you have just joined Mayo Connect. You mentioned that you have electrical problems with your heart. This can certainly be frightening.

I would like to encourage you to join a discussion at Connect on Heart Rhythm problems. Here is the link, https://connect.mayoclinic.org/group/heart-rhythm-conditions/

Has your doctor given any name to these problems, such as Afib, PVC's, etc.? Have you been prescribed meds for this electrical problem?

Hi Catherine, I too, have spiking blood pressure and electrical problems with my heart. Just had a series of tests and hey showed my mitral valve is leaking more than before. Another valve has started leaking. These findings were worrisome. A Mayo Clinic cardiologist checked my tests, checked me, and said I don't need surgery to repair my heart valves. Woo-hoo! Instead, he prescribed medication to control the rate of my heart beats. Sounds like it's time for you to undergo some tests and find out what's going on with your heart.
