Thank you so much. I am so afraid of fusion surgery. I have not heard very good things about it. I would rather heal on my own if I can. I have to much on my agenda left. Mayo turned me down for a consult as they said they did not have anything to offer me other than what my Neuro Dr said. Fusion.
@suerc I had fusion surgery on my back 36 years ago. I'm not sure the exact location of the fracture, but it's somewhere in the middle. Other than not being able to bend my back in the area where the pins were put, I've had no pain or on-going issues. But then again, I was only 17 years old at the time of surgery, and young bodies tend to heal pretty well.
Saw my ortho Dr today. He believes this can be healed with 6 mo in turtle shell. 1 more mo. Then physical therapy. Good news. Neuro Dr just want to cut.

@suerc Wonderful glad to hear this .After the t.s. ask him about P.T. in pool thats what helped also with the healing I suggest the pool ,it is easier on the joints Yea
