Continuously burning of esophagus.

Hi, @vickie53 -- yes, I can imagine that would really hurt to have your esophagus continuously burning.

I'd like to introduce you to some other members on Connect who have talked about burning or other unpleasant sensations in the esophagus, like @kozlo52 @craig7 @waterboy @windwalker @kdubois. I'm hoping they may have some input on the constant esophageal burn, and perhaps they will also have some thoughts on the medications not helping, the difficulty getting sleep and the LINX procedure you are considering.

@vickie53 - have you found anything that brings even temporary relief to the burning feeling?

Lisa, I am not a Dr, or medical professional, and the only experience I have had is a 3 mm hiatal hernia, 4 inch segement of Barrett's, multiple RFA treatments (the first was the worst... burning 3 microns of esophagus for 360 degrees over 4 inches... it wasn't the time to go to KFC for some extra crispy.
Most of this was done at UW Madison clinics, Last time I went to Mayo's Barrett's clinic.... a good move.

I had not heard of LINX. I had a fundoplication 9 years ago. I also have gastroparesis and esophagitis. I’m scheduled for a G-POEM procedure at Emory 9/27. I will look into LINX at Emory. Best of luck to you.

@vickie53 Hi Vicky. Sorry that your throat is giving you a fit. Along with popcycles, you may want to try honey. I had GERD, aka acid reflux. I had it so bad that it hurt to breathe. I honestly thought I must have throat cancer because of the constant burning. I took prescription strength Prilosec for a short while and followed the diet and directions to prevent the reflux. It all worked for me. You will know more after your visit with your dr. I have not heard of LINX either; what is it?

Small titanium magnets placed on a wire around the lower end of esophagus.
I was looking on computer for any treatment for acid reflux.
