Hi, @rostrevor -- that sounds like a frustrating problem having dry mouth. You've been really proactive in trying remedies and also ruling out possible causes, which is great.

Here is some information from Mayo Clinic on dry mouth that may be useful: https://mayocl.in/2EQqw7o.

I'd like to introduce you to some other Connect members who have mentioned dry mouth, such as @lioness @fleure @jeanw28 @netty @redhead63 @fsumom6. Hoping they may have some insights for you. Also, @alpaca may have some thoughts.

@rostrevor, have you gotten to check with your doctor or pharmacist to see what they think?

I have seen specialists including special dentist who confirmed that I am not making enough saliva. All products I mentioned and chewing sugar free gum helps for a short time but the condition continues. I never had this condition before but it’s been going on for 3.5 months. Maybe meds I take is causing it.

Hi Rostrevor

I have Sjogren's Syndrome and this includes a dry mouth. I have been prescribed Pilocarpine or Salagen which I can take up to four times a day but I only usually need to take it once a night. I have had no side effects with this medication and it works really effectively. Please ask if you can have it prescribed. It is a rather old fashioned drug but it is cheap and effective.

I have Salagen and will try it nightly thanks df

@rostrevor hi I have dry mouth but have found Biotene mouthwash at night helps will definitely not take certain medicines. I thought I was going to choke on the dry mouth and throat but biotene gave me relief.I now don't take many meds as I believe in natural herbs ,foods and xylimelts

Hi, @rostrevor - just wanted to check in with you and see if the pilocarpine (Salagen) you were going to try for your dry mouth has made any difference for you so far?
