Hernia Surgery scheduled
Hi all, quick question my husband is scheduled to have his hernia removed on 7/31/2018. I am concern because we were told early on that they would remove the hernia during the transplant because it is to dangerous to remove now. He is in constant pain all day every day. Has anyone had a hernia removed before there transplant and if so how did it go?

@rosemary, no we are about 15 minutes from the medical center here in Houston. He was in much better sprits when I got home from work. He cut the yard and was feeling pretty good. He talked with his liver dr. and he is going to review and let him know if it is a go for him to have the surgery. So hopefully it will be a go. I prefer that he didn't have it because of the danger, whatever that is not sure what the dangers are. But if it will give him some relief from the pain I will be ok. Thanks for your caring heart
@hogan_g1937, I am doing 'home visits' today. When I last heard from you, I felt that there was still a possibility for the surgery for your husband. I have been wondering about him, and you.
What was finally decided? Is there any relief for his pain?

@rosemarya Good afternoon, Yes my husband had his hernia surgery on 7/31/2018. All went well he is home resting. He is in pain from the surgery. He has not had a bowl movement in several day and the lactulose don't seem to be working. Seeing signs of HE, but other than that all is well and thanks so much very asking.
@hogan_g1937, I want to drop in and tell you I'm thinking about you.
I hope that your husband is feeling better after the hernia surgery. Did it resolve any of his excruciating pain?
