No I am not super fit. I am too heavy and I have sleep apnea and type 2 diabetes. But I am getting in better shape. They let me do this return to running program because I have been going to healthy living center for year and half and my assessments are better each time. I can max leg press 450 pounds- I need that to run and my weight. Plus I don't have cardiovascular disease, spine or breathing problems. They really do consider a patient's health. So I am cleared to train for 5k in return to running beginners program.
It sounds like you are in great hands! I'm ACSM CPT and my client's health is paramount before I prescribe an exercise program. I consult with my client's Dr. for any pre-existing conditions as needed. So awesome that you are dedicated to improving your health!
You must be superfit. I like the worthy tiredness after lots of exercise.
