What role does Vitamin D play in pulmonary fibrosis?

No I haven't. I have taken vitamin D during the winter season for a lack of sunlight.

I have not heard this. I believe the "I" in IPF stands for "unknown cause".

"I" is for Idiopathic.. meaning the cause is not yet determined

What about the P & F?

Read another article about the importance of vitamin A for the prevention and treatment of Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis .
My PCP says what i get in my multivitamin is all i need.

Does anyone else have information on the use of vitamin A? Studies, articles, and the like?

IPF stands for Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis. Pulmonary fibrosis is a lung disease that occurs when lung tissue becomes damaged and scarred. This thickened, stiff tissue makes it more difficult for your lungs to work properly. As @rcfan9 mentioned, "idiopathic" means that the cause of the pulmonary fibrosis is unknown.

Also note that the study was specifically for bleomycin-induced pulmonary fibrosis.

I stands for Interstitial. There fore a known cause that we really don't know much about. I have IPF along with several other interstitial diseases (liver, thyroid,ra) which they believe is caused by the inflamation over 40 yrs of untreated RA. Of course they is no known cure for any of them.
