Right Heart Catheterization
I underwent a right heart catheterization with exercise 5 days ago. I was awake and pedaling some bike pedals during the procedure. I was given a local anesthetic but still experienced intense pain on insertion of the catheter in my neck from my shoulder to the tips of my fingers. During the procedure the doctor kept applying pressure at the insertion site which caused immense pain as well. I am 5 days post procedure and my neck still hurts. I read the this procedure was not supposed to be painful. Has anybody else had this experience?
