@dishwalla9- Welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect. Acid reflux can be the cause of SOB. Shortness of breath, also called dyspnea, happens with GERD because stomach acid that creeps into the esophagus can enter the lungs, particularly during sleep, and cause swelling of the airways. This can lead to asthma reactions or cause aspiration pneumonia. A lot of people get relief from Proton pump inhibitors (Prilosec, Prevacid, Protonix, Aciphex, Nexium) also lessen the amount of acid your stomach makes. Acid reflux can e the answer to shortness of breath. Also being overweight can be the cause. There is also something called Silent Reflux Disease. https://www.dekalbmedical.org/our-services/gerd/silent-reflux-symptoms :

Thanks for the reply but again I've tried that but didnt solve the 20 years of having this. I'm not overweight and I've takin meds for acid reflux. That didnt solve it. I do have some autonomic dysfunction so I'm guessing that has something to do with it.
