Shortness of breath.

Posted by ginal @ginal, Apr 16, 2018

I have been short of breath and went into ER yesterday. They said I had some fluid around my heart but didn't seem concerned. Is this pretty common with people on Dialysis?

@ginal, I just saw this message. How are you doing now? How is the breathing?
I had fluid 'everywhere' because I had liver failure while also on dialysis.
Here is some information about dialysis - that might be helpful for you.

Have you shared your shortness of breath and your ER trip with your nephrologist?

@rosemarya,Yes I'm still having a lot of problems with my breathing. I'm set up for a Echo and Stress test on the 7th of May so hopefully they can tell why and I can get it fixed. I know they have to do a stress test before I can be put on a list also. Thank you Rosemary

@ginal, I am sure that that is uncomfortable and frightening for you. I hope that your stress test will lead to a diagnosis and a resolution to this.
I have had several stress tests in the past, and I found that the anticipation was the hardest part. I have done the treadmill, and the drug stress test. Here is some information that I hope will be useful for you.

I will be thinking of you on May 7th.
Keep me posted.

The most horrible think about the stress test was the anticipation. It is not so bad. Worth it to get the right diagnosis.

Hi, @beach757 -- I believe you were wondering if @ginal received your private message?

@beach757 -- thanks for your encouragement to @ginal and others about the stress test. You implied it helped with your diagnosis. When did you get your diagnosis?
