OVA 1 Blood Test

Posted by pamwil @pamwil, Mar 31, 2018

Does anyone know if any other medical conditions besides possible ovarian cancer can cause the OVA 1 test to be higher than normal? I am post-menopausal, have a 4" fibroid, and my OVA 1 blood test was 5.5.

Hi, @pamwil, and welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect. Thanks for the details you've shared here, like your OVA1 blood test resulting in a 5.5, being postmenopausal and having a 4-inch fibroid.

I think some of our members who've talked about ovarian cancer and other ovarian issues might have some insights for you, like @caf132 @pauldale4 @laurieann789 and @seansfather. @berit @wandering @upartist and @johnbishop may have some thoughts, as well.

@pamwil -- will you have a chance to talk with your physician about this during this upcoming week?

Hello @pamwil -- I would like to add my welcome to Connect along with @lisalucier and other members. I did find a few sites that my offer some information that may help. Hopefully other members familiar with the OVA 1 test can provide additional information.

I agree with @lisalucier that talking to your physician is best for interpreting the test results.

Hi Lisa, Thanks for asking. My laparoscopic hysterectomy went fine, my doctor said no cancer!
