Does CBD oil help you with your depression and/or anxiety?
I am curious to know if anyone has had success with CBD or Hemp oil helping with depression/anxiety? I’ve been reading a lot about it and am curious.
I've been reading about this and am very interested but would like thoughts/opinions from anyone who has actually tried it or knows someone who has. TIA
Thank you,
Laura

Hi
So brave of you to carry on, with such an insensitive rejection from your psychiatrist. The last pill I took was December 25/19. Then Covid. It has been a struggle, to say the least. However, my family says I am a different person. They truly thought I was in the early stages of dementia. I get tearful a lot, but I find the CBD oil is helpful when I remember to take it. Usually only once a day. It does lower your blood pressure, so that is something to be monitored. So nice to hear from you!!!
Hi
It definitely was the hardest road I ever had to travel. I hope you still find cbd to work for you. I do know that the more you take it the better you feel it just didn’t work for me. Just remember that it will take quite a few weeks to bind to your body, but don’t give up. You are strong and can get through it. It’s always when you feel like giving up where you need to tell yourself it’s all worth it. Take care and like I said any time you want to chat I’m here.
Of course it will take a while before you feel better. Just hang in there it will work out when you least expect it. Meditation doesn’t always work out for every one just do what’s right for you. Take care and if you need anything else just let me know.
I’m sorry I think you have the wrong person. I’m not sure who Gail is. I haven’t been on here in so long I forget what my user name is. If this has meant for me I’ll be happy to help if I can.
I have anger outbursts all the time also and extremely overwhelmed by little changes. I'm on meds for depression and OCD but why all the outbursts? It's like I can't control them. Does anyone have advice? Maria.
@mommaof4
Hi, I just happened to notice your confusion about who bravesurvivor was talking to. it looks like she was replying to someone else's post. It can be confusing to understand the workings of Connect at first. I'd recommend that you check out some of the links at the very bottom left side of this (or any) page, such as "About Connect" and "Getting started on Connect" and others. Things will clear up quickly I think. Believe me, I stumbled around for months because I didn't even know these help pages existed, but they really are helpful. Best, Hank
@mariajean03 It sounds like having these anger outbursts are really frustrating to you. Have you done any writing or journaling, to see what the root of them might be? If you haven't yet, please let the dr know, who prescribed your meds for depression and OCD. It is important they know there might be a negative interaction that they can help you with.
Thinking about those outbursts, have you pinpointed down what each situation may have in common? Is it in a crowd? When a certain type person is around? Certain sounds or spaces? All this might be helpful to discover, and if you are doing any form of therapy, it might be uncovering some hidden things to work on.

Good luck. Could be meds, hidden anger, etc.
@bravesurvivor Welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect. 18 years is a long time to take an antidepressant and going off the medication too fast has resulted in your feeling bad most days. You are looking for people that have been in your position and have used CBD oil successfully.
May I ask why you went off of your antidepressant quickly and what your provider has to say about your feeling bad most days?
@mommaof4 You had some very support words for others and it sounds like these words come from hard earned experience.
I wanted to check in. How are you doing?
