Does CBD oil help you with your depression and/or anxiety?
I am curious to know if anyone has had success with CBD or Hemp oil helping with depression/anxiety? I’ve been reading a lot about it and am curious.
I've been reading about this and am very interested but would like thoughts/opinions from anyone who has actually tried it or knows someone who has. TIA
Thank you,
Laura

I’ve been reading through these posts as I’m going through Effexor withdrawal and wondering if CBD would help. I’ve used Marijuana for much of my life and consider myself pretty knowledgeable about it. I noticed some questions I can answer. First, CBD has an extremely minimal amount of THC meaning it will not get you high. It’s the THC in Marijuana that gets you stoned, the CBD doesn’t at all. CBD is legal in every state I believe and you can find CBD shops (where no THC is sold) in most large cities. It is also sold in shops that do sell THC (much less common due to ridiculous legal restrictions). More so that in most shops workers at Marijuana shops are usually very knowledgeable on Marijuana so if you’re confused about dosing they can help you. Lastly, there is zero scientific evidence that Marijuana is physiologically addictive. What that means is your body won’t experience physical addiction. Psychologically/ mentally one could feel addicted (and as a long time smoker I have been there) but that is to Marijuana with THC.
Oh, one last thing. If you’re just starting to smoke from a vape pen just start slow and for a short time in your puffs. You’ll get comfortable before you know it.
I use CBD oil for anxiety and depression. I have both and I find it helps a lot. When my anxiety gets really bad I use the one with THC. I also suffer from depression and they both help a lot. I think you should give it a try it’s worth the shot. Hopefully you find that it helps
I am really interested in people’s responses to CBd oil but I really do not like some people trying to use this forum to sell stuff from them self to other members. Not you. Previous posters
Hi, I didn't know that we can contrarrest high anxiety with THC. In my case it makes the contrary effect more anxiety and panic attacks. The opposite happens to me on cbd with just .03% thc with that everything is fine
You are correct that the medical marijuana and CBD with THC can worsen anxiety and depression. My med nurse explained that all to me. The oil doesn’t do that to me, but I don’t like smoking the marijuana it makes me cough really bad
I have been administering CBD 20:1 tincture for my 31 yr old son who has autism and a great deal of anxiety for the past 5 months So far it has helped him a great deal; according to his staff and observations I have made . I weaned him off 2 drugs prescribed by his psychiatrist Guanficine and clonipin. in the past 5 months. I an now trying to wean him off an atypical antipsychotic. I am tapering very slowly/ I did not like the idea of polypharmacy ( he was on 5 medications) to control anxiety and aggression, irritability . Generally he has seemed much happier, calmer, more focused in the past 5 months which did not happen when he was on the 5 "prescribed" medications. I recently consulted with a nurse practitioner who specializes in medical cannabis to assist me with dosing, type of CBD and weaning him off psych meds if possible. I am taking data on his moods, indicators of stress , behaviors etc to assist me and his physician to determine if when we can lower the dose of the pharmaceuticals. . Finding the right brand and dose can be difficult . Nurse practitioner told me it is better to look at the amt of milligrams of CBD in the oil vs just the ratio. He takes the tincture sblingually under the tongue although it can certainly be added to food. It can take anywhere from about 30 minutes to an hour to see the difference in his mood , generally calmer, less irritable and perseverative . I understand if you want a faster acting effect you can vape it but I have not tried that with him. Hope this is helpful.
Which CBD oil do you use? And is it with THC?
When shopping CBD oils, the most important thing is to determine the actual CBD content in each dose. Using a product made from isolate guarantees a 99.9% plus purity. Insist on seeing a Certificate of Analysis. Check out the Isospectra website as there is a lot of information.
Hi I ve been using successfully hempworx 750 mg twice a day during 4 months with total success for my symptoms: brain fog, mood liability, anxiety, sleep and energy. It resulted fantastic(20 drows am 20 drows pm). But last month I received a bad batch then just with 1 drop I wa feeling anxiety and upper in the dose feeling panic attacks so they switch me the bottle and u began again from the beginning started with the lower dose 5 drops and then go up 1 drop more each 3 days. After 2 weeks I always see results while on 10 drops. From that I've been uppring the dose to 12 or 15 drops and it's scary because I experiment the opposite: ANXIETY Many of the users of hempworx don't believe me. I've already paid for a package of 4 new bottles and they are on their way. I appreciate any suggestion from users and if there's somebody trained in this topics at this page. For now (this morning ) I didn't took the whole 12 drops but 5 drops (the initial dpse) but really need some guidance. And suggestion Thanls
I have been taking the hemp/CBD nearly 4 months and don’t need as much. Was improving some in mood and for some reason my thyroid went hyper. Doubtful the hemp had anything to do with it as this has been going on for over 5 years. They dropped the dose by 60 mg. Now I am a mess all over again and very discouraged. Seeing a specialist was of no help. I guess the pcp decided to start at square one. Do they have any idea what this does to the patient?? 2 weeks on 30 mg. and I am a mess. Go for blood work and hope I can keep my tongue in check.
So sluggish a snail would appear as a Triple Crown Winner. I only go to the lab and it is not their fault-nor is it mine. Stuff just happens. Discouraged is my word for now. I will share though 😁
