Yes see a nephrologist doc- or maybe urologist! It may be a simple fix of something you're doing or it could be a warning sign. I ignored recurrent uti's for years and wish I could turn back time. Good Luck, Kathy Post-Kidney Transplant 2013

Thank you for the information. I am sorry you had to go through a kidney transplant. It must have been very hard. A friend of mine donated a kidney and I watched what she went through. Thank goodness you had a donor. Thanks again for your response. I will get an appointment with a urologist.

Hi @huffman1835,

I'm so happy to see you return to Connect after quite a while! I'm sorry to hear about your kidney transplant, and sincerely hope you are doing well? We have a fantastic "Transplants" group on Connect, https://connect.mayoclinic.org/group/transplants/ where many 'transplantees' have shared their incredible experiences and insights. For example, you might be interested in this discussion that Mentor @rosemarya (who received a simultaneous liver/kidney transplant in 2009) had started:
"This and That and Talk - My Transplant" https://connect.mayoclinic.org/discussion/this-and-that-and-talk-my-transpant/
I encourage you to read through, join in, or start a new discussion – I know you will be warmly welcomed by fellow members and Mentors in that group. Welcome back!

@mpeters, I also, am sorry to hear that you are experiencing reoccurring uti's. In my opinion, one is enough! I never had a uti until after my transplant. I think that puts me in a more cautious frame of mind, and my local PCP is especially vigilant when I do exhibit symptoms.

I am happy that you will get an appointment with a specialist. You are doing the right thing to seek out a possible cause.

Have you had urinalysis and/or urine cultures done when you have uti symptoms? Be sure to take those records with you.
Wishing and hoping for answers.
Rosemary

Georgia/Australia - Yes, UTI's was the first sign of bladder cancer for me. The GP just sent me for pelvic floor exercises !!! NO. Have a PET scan.
