Music Helps Me

Posted by Parus @parus, Oct 13, 2017

At times music can be helpful. I like the group Anthem Lights...A new discovery for me when I was perusing youtube. A Capella has always been my thing. I love to sing!!!!!

@johnbishop This is the video that made me cry when I saw it, for the emotion it triggered

Read the entire message for the video, and you'll see why it made me really like it!
I have studied sign language, as my fourth language. When we got married, I signed Josh Groban's song "You Raise Me up", to my husband on the beach, while the song played in the background. Back in 2013, just after my dad passed, when I was presenting an American flag to a club he belonged to, I signed and simultaneously spoke my message. As he went deaf, I taught him some sign language, in order for him to feel "part of" a conversation. It is a beautiful language, and has many versions/accents, just like English!

I agree, Ginger, sign language is beautiful. The signs often depict the meaning of the words. it's really lovely!

I have found music at times helps calm my mind. Lately have found Hauser who plays cello mostly classical music but occasionally plays a cello version of pop music. I also enjoy the Piano Guys who use musical instruments like piano and cello in unique creative ways and settings. One of my fave is their rendition of Peponi which means Paradise in Swahili originally a song by Coldplay. Enjoy!
