Spring both good and bad. I have 10 acres, with a little over 7 in irrigated pasture, around an acre of dry pasture, and the rest is lawn, gardens, orchard and trees and plantings, with some intended space that could be called barnyard and graveled space for trailers and equipment. It's good because it's nice to look at and enjoy the fruit and vegetables, and bad because it takes a lot of work. It's my full time job from May 1 through the end of September. It does keep me in shape and helps ease the depression. But I do enjoy the winter break.

I fenced in a large area for the vegetable garden that does double duty as a perennial garden. The fence is 8' tall to keep the deer and dogs out. It's not a wooden fence - horse no-climb with a couple of rows of barbed wire above. I wish it would keep the squirrels and gophers out. They're a real nuisance.

I know what you mean about feeling that bass rhythm. If I'm alone I'll crank up the music so I feel it more than just with my ears. I used to play a pipe organ for a church in San Francisco, and liked pulling out all the stops. But having the contrast of a simple flute or diapason was a pleasure, as well. Music is a language of immense diversity.

Stay safe and healthy.

Jim

I've been wondering how you're feeling. Are you enjoying the solitude? For the most part I am. I miss church and restaurants, but otherwise I'm used to being home.

Have a good weekend
