Compromised Immune system
I have had Covid first in 2020 as a teenager. I was shortly after diagnosed with depression, never had had any issues before. After 5 years of antidepressants I have finally gotten over it and am off medication.
However, concurrent to that, I have for years now since my first Covid infection battled with constant and frequent viral infections, usually starts in my throat, mucus, sometimes affects my sinuses. It’s inconsistent, but there are phases when I get these viral symptoms every month or two, severely affecting my studies and now work life. I have run blood tests, but nothing has showed up.
Does anyone have experience with these kind of symptoms?

Hi Dr,s are still trying to pin point Covid I had some what the same issues they could not find anything wrong with my blood tests
That's why this thing isn't preferred by most dr.s.Everyone I know went to see a dr about covid same deal....;NO pinpoint answers to the symptoms.Hang in there. It's real. And will take time to heal.Supplements...that's what I've been doing now for 5 years(covid 2020).I know they've helped big time.God Bless.

Which supplements?
I empathize with your symptoms. I have been much more vulnerable to infections and virus. I just went through 3 rounds of antibiotics and an anti viral and could do barely anything for a month. Still have symptoms of my last severe GI long COVID 3 years ago. Previous long COVID was in 19 with breathing and neuro issues. I do believe I'm slowly getting better but so wish there were more clinics to help us all manage Long Covid better. Most closed in the middle of COVID. ???
I have had the same symptoms for several years since having COVID. Sinus congestion which also affects ears and the greatest problem..very heavy post nasal drip which is constant and often keeps me awake at night. I feel like I have a bad case of the flu but of course no confirmed evidence..even have had a clear CT scan. I was diagnosed with long covid only last year but can see that the sinus symptoms spike when I have a crash. Now I also find that the neck tendon on the side of the most irritated sinus also becomes sensitive.
I identify with your concerns completely but so far have no answers in spite of nasal sprays, anti histamines etc.
Wishing you the very best.
When I was at this stage and no answers seemed to be the end of the options, I asked one question of my PCP: "Is my immune system trashed?" It was key to my recovery as the PCP ordered for the first time a T-Cell study. This proved to be the one thing that would lead to my healing. Have a chat with your doctor about your immune system. And, if you are having gastro issues, make sure to find a probiotic that does not upset things more and then go on a daily regime of probiotics. I also drink one Yacult probiotic each morning for added gut protection.

1 Reaction@lez Did your doctor order MRI imaging of your sphenoid sinus? I had a sinus 'eruption' 1 to 2 times a month for 2 years after contracting Covid D in March 2023. Headaches came with it. No sinus pain, but a major drainage of yellow goo in a long tube was ejected twice a month; the headaches were reduced for about a week afterward but then came back. This drainage always tested positive with the Covid strips. After 2 years of this mess, I found an ENT that looked at previous MRI images of my sphenoid. While previous specialists always said the swelling looked mild and the CT follow up images did not change this 'mild' summary, I found one micro surgeon who decided to take a look with a scope. This lead to laser micro surgery which found major deposits; all testing positive for the spike protein. The fragments left as debris when the immune system blows up the actual Covid D virus were not being cleared by my T-Cells. As a result these fragments were left behind in storage throughout my body in fatty lipid cells. But, in the sinus cavity these tube like containers appeared to be a 'replication' factory for the spike protein; building up clogs in the malefactor sinuses and completely coating and clogging the turbinates (drainage tubes from malefactor sinuses). In my case, the T-Cell dysfunction discovery in blood work revealed what had caused what are called covid remnant EV packages.

1 Reaction@pattig09 You already gave me detailed info re your experience with sinus congestion and spike protein whichI much appreciated. I hope you don't mind my asking another question. My congestion and other "head" issues are always there but
frequently flare up. When there is a flare it is accompanied by a feeling of being really ill..I suppose like having the flu without a fever. Did you experience this as well? I am trying to gain as much info as possible for my doctors as I am so often put on antibiotics that I suspect I may not need.
Thank you!!
@lez Happy to provide details as I am finding answers. My condition was in cycles also, about every 2 weeks on average. The feeling was flu like from the point where a mild migraine would start on the right of my head. The dizzy sort of vertigo unbalance caused this flu like sense. After the yellow ooze eruptions (there were times the drainage was captured in my morning or evening Navage flushes ahead of the massive drainage) then the flu like symptoms would subside for a few weeks. This all stopped once the ENT clean out all my nasal passages of the infection. For years ahead of the surgery many other doctors treating me gave me multiple monthly doses of anti-fungal meds and when they didn't change the cycles, they would change to antibiotics. This lead to a major gastro problem and ultimately to C-diff. So while the spike proteins drainage was already damaging my biome in stomach and intestines, the meds made it far worse. I think I mentioned this to you, but if not: Have your PCP do a complete T-Cell work up on you and see what condition your immune system is in. This helped me in healing options due to connections with damage from the spike protein of my body's natural defenders. Since I last posted, additional tests are pointing to more specific answers to what the spike protein or fragments left behind have done to my body. I'll send you a separate update to share with your doctor after my latest labs are reviewed at the end of this week. I'll give you a hint: it's actually a good thing that in the past 3 years so many different specialists have treated me as together this team has found common ground on causation for Long Covid. When only one symptom is treated by an expert in that specialty, it can cause the other symptoms to remain as if unconnected. I'll give you an example: could a stroke, vestibular vertigo with inability to move without vomiting and an PSA of 34 in a male with no enlarged prostate be connected to Long Covid? Use your search engine for just these symptoms and you will see they are all caused by the inflammation throughout the body due to the spike protein itself or its fragments left behind when it trashes your T-Cells. I've post here in Mayo about the journey because over 6 millions sufferers remain in sort of a limbo.
