@bigk2u I just read your post and wanted to know more about the sponginess. I just started on Eliquis in May for 2 blot clots in my Left leg. In late June I noticed some "swelling" on the inner side of my right knee and over about a month it got bigger and now goes from the knee up the inner thigh. I also have it in the same area on my Left leg but the Right is worse (which is weird cause it is the side Without the clots). I started out describing it as swelling, but over time actually started using the word spongey so was amazed you said the same thing. My vascular medicine doc doesn't know what it is, said it feels more like tissue than anything. Just saw my primary and she doesn't know either and said to go back to vascular. I started looking things up and was wondering if I had lipedema now so am going to ask when I see her in November. BUT based on your comment, maybe it is a side effect of the Eliquis. Just seems really odd that we are both describing the same thing just on different parts of the leg. I am going to try to search Eliquis and I might call the company. I will let you know if I find anything else out. I do the elevation, swim for exercise and use compression thigh high hose. What is rejuvenate vibrating straps?? The only thing that has temporarily decreased the swelling a bit in the thighs is medical massage facia work. Also just had lymphatic massage and the swelling is a little better- just lasts about a week. I have also had some pain to light touch on the thighs intermittently and at times pain in that area when I walk- do you have any of those symptoms?

@truyank Good morning… I think the sponginess is the collection of fluid being unable to circulate back up the leg without a little help… I believe you might have blood clots in both legs… I don’t think it’s a side effect of the Eliquis… I was on Eliquis four/five years ago for about 6-8 months and the idiot primary insisted I get off of it… I did not at first, but then I did… if you read those 10 pages of fine print on the elequis prescription label It says if you’re on it and then get off you’re more susceptible of getting another clot so now consequently I have clots in both legs, but I also have FVL…a hereditary gene…post eliquis, I’ve never had any pain, only swelling and that sponginess… and an increase 1 full shoe size… I would highly recommend those rejuvenate straps… The company has them for all parts of the body… In fact after I bought one, I bought a second… As I type this, they are both on my ankles heating and vibrating… That gets the blood flowing… And anyone that’s been ever had an operation. It is standard procedure at the operating room they strap a similar apparatus on your ankles to prevent blood clots in your leg…albeit a much upgraded version than the ones I bought on the net for $65… I have two nine hour flights coming up going to Africa… And I will be using the vibrating straps throughout… your condition will worsen if you don’t keep active… I walk a lot, climb stairs but to me, the straps have been a godsend… I actually think my condition is improving… Slowly, but improving… Best of luck.
