ET and chemical pre-cautions?

Posted by mlmk0601 @mlmk0601, Oct 11, 2023

Im 64 got diagnosed with ET about 2 years ago based on blood work (Jak2). My hematologist says I’m textbook ET My count is at 713K and on 2 81mg aspirins a day so far. My doctor asking told me to stay away from chemicals like pesticides and Benzene. Has anyone else had any other mentions on what to stay clear off when having these blood disorders?

I hope your Pegasys journey is going well. I keep reading about a worldwide shortage of the drug. Has it been an issue for you?
I am doing well, taking HU 4x a week to try to get platelets below 400.

Benzene is know to create mutation in genes, i called a lawyer because i was exposed to chemical early in life 16-32 for the blood cancer law suit with pestisides , because the medical doctor don't have a clear and fact sheet with enough people, no one will touch the makeres of benzene which was used a lot in solvents and other things.. It's not that i wanted to get rich, i have no medication coverage and no help in being able to keep my home up.. I think if the doctors know as Fred Hutch in Seattle also said benzene, but they will not put in writting.. staying away after the fact if your jak 2 positive probably only keep it or us from getting another cancer.. So sorry you go threw this.
