I had plantar fascitis a good many years ago. My PT recommended a boot which I wore while sleeping only. It took a few weeks and it worked wonders. It has not ever come back.

@cheryl1701 I wear LOWA ankle-hi boots when I'll be on rough terrain. I went to REI and discovered there are no hiking boots made in longer sizes for women. I then asked for the narrowest men's hiking boot they had. Instead of a (women's) size 13, I found a very good fit in a men's size 11. They are very comfortable, I have room for my custom orthotids, and I can be in them all day.
