Does anyone else have pancreatic cancer mets to their stomach?

Posted by klblvsalf @kmbori, Aug 27 7:06am

My husband has stage 4 with mets to his stomach and spleen and they say possibly a very tiny one in his liver. The tumors in his stomach cause him alot of pain. This past Friday he completed 5 radiation treatments to his stomach for pain control. The verdict is still out. Praying it helps. Does anyone else have mets to their stomach? How are they dealing with the pain and eating? My husband has lost 100lbs and has zero muscle tone left. It completely breaks my heart.

My Husband lost his battle this morning. He fought so hard and courageously. He has prayed for the last two years to be brave when he lost the fight and that he did and did well. I am so thankful that it is over for him.
Now, I need to learn to do Life without him.

I will continue to pray for all of you. Your Stories have helped me over the last two years and I am so thankful
for all of your support and good wishes,

@suelannon I am so so sorry to hear that. I know that you folks did all that you could. Find solace that he has some peace and is no longer suffering. Please let me know, if there is anything that I can do to help. I am giving you lots of hugs.

Have no personal advice. Just do understand the pain your feeling watching your husband go through this. Mine was 6 foot 220 lbs. Now 148. Hope you can get him some sort of comfort.

@suelannon My heart goes out to you. I fear the same. Be 2 years this October of the diagnosis. It's so hard to watch . I have felt guilty at times if that makes any sense. We've been together 51 years. I also can't imagine being with out him. Take care. 🙏

I am so sorry to hear about your Husband. My husband also has mets to his lungs and stomach and they think quire possibly to his liver also but he hasn't had any scans since April. He was tired of going to the Hospital and doing all of the scans and blood work, etc so he went on Hospice . He has lost 85 lbs. in about 9 months.
he also has a lot of pain in his stomach and is taking Oxy for the pain. He barely eats any more.
I know how hard this must be on you because I am experiencing the same. We have been together since we were 17 and have been married for 51 years. I am just taking each day as it comes and trying to keep him as comfortable as possible. He takes a lot of comfort from me holding his hand or being close to him even if I am just reading a book beside the bed as he sleeps which he is now doing 20-21 hours a day.
Please don't forget to take care of you as this can be a long journey .

@suelannon I'm in tears reading this. How women can be this strong. It's comforting to hear words of strength & love for the spouses. Also we're married very young. 51 years here also. Take care.

I am so very sorry for your loss. I dread that day. I try to tell myself that one of us has to go first eventually. I just always hoped it would be me - and much later in life. I pray for you and your family. You can always come back here to vent, cry, whatever. Sending hugs.

My husband is 6 foot and was 149 last visit - that was a few weeks ago - I can only imagine what he weighs now. Seeing the scale go down really affects me mentally. My husband just started the daraxonrasib. So praying for the best. Thats all we can do.

@casey1959 I know exactly how you feel and understand completely what you are going through. Wish we could talk. My husband was my Best Friend and even though Hospice Nurses and my Sons and Family told me what a wonderful job I did taking care of my husband , I
keep feeling like I didn't do enough. The last couple of Months were very difficult for both of us.

@kmbori Thank you so much for your kind words. I will continue to pray for everyone with
Pancreatic Cancer and also pray that they find a cure as soon as possible . I had two years to prepare for this day and thank God that we had some really great days during that time but I was still not prepared. I just feel numb right now but I know Grief will set in and I am going to try as hard as I can to turn that Grief into Doing for others to make their Journey easier.
My Mom also passed from Pancreatic Cancer and I did volunteer work in a Hospice Ward
at a Hospital for 3 years. That experience not only helped me with my grief but I felt that
the patients did more for me than I could ever do for them. It was a humbling experience.

@suelannon May you find comfort in knowing some of us are still in the daily battle, yet keenly understand the transition to loss is just around the corner, at any time. Please care for yourself now.
