help with cancer-related anxiety
Hello. I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2020. It has been a long road with many ups and downs. I am here today because lately I have been having feelings of cancer-related PTSD and anxiety. Can anyone suggest something that might help? Paid counseling is not really in my budget at this point.

Thank you so much for the great advice. I, too, have been learning to accept my anxiety and let it pass rather than trying to fight it. Also, I have been meditating almost daily and doing trauma work, and have discovered that somatic meditation works really well for resetting the nervous system. I have been operating in fight-or-flight mode for many years and am finally tired enough of it to try to do something about it. Have you done any yoga? Thinking about trying that next.
@shmerdloff What great advice. I read these books decades ago....way before I experienced the breast cancer, radiation roller coast ! They are still my go to's.. Thank you for sharing this! I use Louise Hay's tools everyday - but I have neglected Dr. Bernie.
@michelle888 I do resorative yoga regularly. When I leave the yoga class, I feel renewed.

1 ReactionMichelle, It's great that you are meditating. I have found guided meditation, outdoors under headsets, to be extremely relaxing and therapeutic. The tools used in Guided Meditation helps me replace my fear with hope and a peaceful state of mind.

Try a little Deepak Chopra (I know, Epstein😕)
Thank you - I think I would prefer Wayne Dyer over Deepak.... : )

1 Reaction@ritalu Yes, you get it too! There is a beautiful park where I live, and after work I ride my bike there and sit under the trees and look at the creek. Nature is extremely therapeutic for me. I really love the meditations by Wendy Jones ... she is the best I've found for resetting the nervous system.
@ritalu That's awesome. I'll have to give it a try.
