LPR Treatment

Posted by BG @wgilm, Jan 22, 2025

A Few years back I saw a post about an American Pharmaceutical Company developing a treatment for LPR. It was in the testing stage and they said it should be on the market by 2025. Unfortunately I didn't save the link to it. Does anyone here know of this? Thanks.

Low acid diet and lifestyle changes are the best course. Meds don’t really help at this point although some alginate based treatments are good. Read the books by Jamie Kaufman and Dr Aviv. Knowledge on what happens and why with LPR help you make informed decisions to help heal.

I am 78 years old and have been to every doctor, pulmonary, ent, allergist and internist to try to figure out why I have copious amounts of thick clear phlegm in my throat all the time. I cough so violently they I am afraid I will not be able to catch my breath. I have been on Prevacid for 30 years but still get heartburn and take baking soda and water at night. I don’t know what to do I feel embarrassed to go out sometimes because I can’t control the violent coughing. Don’t know what to do. Had an endoscopy in December and it showed nothing.

@karentv Hi! I’m 71 and have pretty much the same symptoms. I’m going to try the gastro Dr. one last time then try to figure something out on my own. There are a few very good FaceBook groups related to LPR and at the very least having conversations with someone who is going through what we are will be helpful.
