@sophyg No. The Flexeril and heat knocked it out. Painful stuff! Blessings.....

I have had sciatica pain for over 10 years due to stenosis. Had multiple physical therapy sessions, epidural injections and a laminectomy. Nothing really helped. In recent years, I found that using a CBD ointment does help to stabilize the condition. For occasional flareups, Prednisone is effective.

fala, My primary doctor treated mine. I empathize as it can be extremely painful. I still get flareups occasionally.

What worked for me was Tylenol and Flexeril (Prescription Muscle relaxant) and Bed Buddy Heat Packs (Amazon) that go in the microwave for 2 minutes. Be careful to not get the heat pack to hot or it can burn you. Use a towel as a barrier between the Bed Buddy and your skin. Bed rest. I think I also used Voltaren Gel (Over the counter). This is an NSAID gel....I cannot take NSAIDS orally, but, the gel has never bothered me.

I would think Chiropractors could treat this as well as an Orthopedic Doctor.

Praying for you as I know how painful this can be. Blessings & Prayers....

@covidstinks2023 I have been treated for sciatica at both a pain clinic and a sports rehab center. I also had back surgery eventually, which did end the sciatica,

I’ve had sciatic going down my left leg; the best thing for me was to take heavy doses of Lirica (200 mg) twice a day. I would take it for 2 to 3 weeks unitl the sciatica is gone. Lirica makes you pretty sleepy so you have to weather the storm. Great for sleep at night. I’m experiencing pain in my lower back & my doctor recommended an ablation for me (works for 1.5 months for me); she told me if I had sciatca, she would recommend an epidural or nerve block. If your sciatica is a long term thing, you probably need to look at surgery. I have herniated disks at L4 and L5 … they are recommending fusion at these two levels. I haven’t made a decision yet. The pinched neveres come and go (not permanent … long term I’ll need an operation).

Acupuncture cured my sciatica. I had it four decades ago, and a Vietnamese doctor cured me. Twenty years later, I did something not so smart, and it came back. A Chinese doctor helped me then. It has been years and so far, it hasn't come back.
