Shingrix vaccine?

My husband and I both have the Shingrix vaccine. I kind of remember having a sore arm, but I don’t recall it as something horrible. I’ve seen people with shingles and that scared me more than feeling off for a week. Good luck

I got the Shingrix vax and had a sore arm, but that was it. Get it! A friend who had shingles was out of work for weeks. Sore arm beats that by a mile.

Having Fibromyalgia and CFS -I am afraid to take the shingles vaccine....and wonder if I am right. Afraid that I will have a severe reaction of some sort.

I got the shots and felt fine. My only reaction was an itch in one spot. It was crazy. 5 yrs. later the itch still pops up. Everyone is different. A friend of mine was sick for a week after the first shot. I would encourage you to get the shot because I had shingles years ago and it's not fun. Good luck.

I once had shingles and it was terrible. I can still get it and yet I waited five years to get it. Yes it was very sore for 3-4 days. I got it on my left side instead of my dominant right side. The first shot I also was a little under the weather. Like flu. Second shot it also hurt. Don’t want to freak out those who don’t like shots but you can feel the vaccine going in. Everything at 71 takes longer! Fact of life. I didn’t really have a flare but same reactions as my husband. The alternative argument is that my shingles lasted 6 weeks when I was 50. So there ya go!

I asked to get the shingles vaccine after seeing my sister and son getting the shingles and how awful it was. At the time my worse pain from the fibromyalgia was nerve pain along with sides of both legs and I read that shingles is inflammation of nerve pathways and feared shingles pain if I got it to be exacerbated since I had fibromyalgia. I couldn’t imagine that pain getting worse, it has been the most painful but it finally went away after taking LDN, I’m so relieved. Anyway I got the vaccine expecting the worse. I had minimal pain right after for maybe 1 hour or 2 and no pain at all after the 2nd shot. I’m glad I got it. Of course everyone’s reaction is different.

NO! Don't get it. I got it last year, and a few months later I got Shingles again! I've had it several times off and on over the past 12 years. My friend from college got the first shot, and he couldn't get out of bed for 4 days, he was so exhausted. He's a pretty healthy person.

My husband and I have had the shots when we turned 50, I moved my arm around (like I do with the flu shot) and it did not hurt, only if I pressed on it. Keep the arm moving.

I get shots like this in my butt since there's more muscle there and less post shot pain. Just tell the nurse where you want it and they will get the appropriate needle and do it.

This vaccine is not a live one. That was important to me. I have autoimmune issues. I got them and don’t recall either of the 2 part injections being any different from any other shot. Maybe a little sore, but not sick. Both my parents got them….when in their 80s. No problem and my mom has medication and shot anxiety. She was fine.

For me, it was an easy decision. I know younger people who have gotten shingles and they have suffered! Fear of blindness even. The vaccine doesn’t completely stop it, but lessens the severity.
