Trying to figure out if my flashbacks are like those others have.

I dont think I experience flashbacks like everyone else. I have dissociation ptsd to start with. My mind replays situations. My regular memories over time have changed. The ones my my mind replays, the details and situations do not. They are more vivid and bad situations. I'm guessing that's what they are. World doesn't feel real to me to begin with. I do things but it doesn't feel like I'm doing them. This makes sorting out what's going on difficult. I have a tbi, but this started before. Tbi just makes it worse.

I have ptsd, TBI and multiple medical stuff : MS, strokes, ad nauseum. And TOPS (Tired Old Person Syndrome). My flashbacks are horrible. What really disturbs me is additional ones that show up, leaving me to wonder how I “forgot” them in first place. Our minds are fascinating in what protective abilities are built in. I’m 78, flashbacks from age 5 to now. That’s a lot of years of ducking/weaving as memories come flying at you unexpectedly. Try to take comfort in knowing you are not alone. Best wishes.

How do you know what others are experiencing in order to compare? And why do you want to compare what you're experiencing against what someone else is experiencing? Are you taking any medications for your PTSD and are you in therapy? You’re describing what you feel and it sounds like you need to express this to someone with more credentials that most of us have.
I had a fall in 1974 from a height of 14 feet onto my left side and left side of my head. I had a subdural hematoma with a fractured skull. Thankfully I recovered eventually and PTSD wasn’t even a thing way back then. It too about a month to recover and I’ve had no issues since then.
