@logi Yes it will get smaller.could take 9 months I was told. I also just recently had a tounge debunking.This made my flap even smaller. My surgeon told me they tend to make the flap larger,rather then to small to avoid speaking, and swallowing. They can always go back in and debunk. Procedure was easy,no pain at all .Took about 2 weeks for stitches to devolve. He told me about a man who In sisteed he make his flap much smaller.He my doctor told him not to itwould effect his speaking and swallowing the guy wouldn't listen,so he did it,well now the man can't swallow,and needed a feed tube .And now needs a whole new flap. These surgeons no what they are doing, trust them.
@shane1954 Yes, I recently had a tounge debunking. Making my flap smaller. The surgeon said they tend to make them larger, then to small, they can always go back and reduce,but not add back. Procedure super easy, no pain. If they go to small it effects your speeking,and swallowing. Told me about a man who Insisted his be smaller,surgeon told him not to have it done.Well the man did it and now can't swallow at all. And now needs a whole new free flap made. TRUSTThe doctors. They no what they are doing.
@tracey8
Right now can’t imagine anyone in my throat. Thank you though, think I will wait it out.
At least it’s an option, but surgeon didn’t suggest it.
This business has been quite traumatic for me by btw.
Thanks again.
