Anyone developed pain in feet from Evenity?

Posted by rita @ritabtripp, Jul 23, 2024

I have had 5 doses of Evenity and a couple months ago started having discomfort in my heels and balls and my feet have gotten progressively worse. My weight hasn’t changed (I’m not overweight), I wear good shoes with inserts and I have stopped all exercise that would exacerbate the pain. Initially the pain was only obvious if I was barefoot and now it hurts to walk even with my running shoes. It doesn’t feel like plantar fasciitis but I’m taping my toe and doing stretches to treat plantar fasciitis just in case. But the only thing that has really changed in my life has been starting on Evenity. Anyone else had this response to Evenity?

I know this is an old post but I'm having the same issue. It started after my second dose. I have never had foot pain before. I am wearing Brooks and doing calf stretches. I also got dancers pads and am using infrared. Any information would be appreciated.

@bumblegal I not only developed pain in my feet but tingling as well. I also had joint pain in my knees and hips. It became difficult to do squats and lunges and even step up. I took two Tylenol at bedtime while on Evenity.

The good news is that I had my last dose on April 10 and this side effect has disappeared.

Late in my treatment, I tried taking glucosamine and chondroitin supplements and they helped a bit.

I know this side effect can be uncomfortable but it was worth it for me as I gained over 30% in bone density in my spine, going from -2.2 to -1.5.

Yes, I had significant pain in my feet, ankles, and shins, while on Evenity for 1-1/2 doses (beforig D/C'ing due to side effects), along with scratching/clawing sensations going up my shin. I also am.having similar issues with Tymlos, so I lowered to half-dose. The side effects are less severe, so far. Good luck.

Did it resolve? I started with pain in my feet one month into evenity. I just saw a podiatrist and received a steroid and was told plantar fascia. My ankles hurt so bad. I have been doing the exercises and taking Meloxicam. I'm scheduled for the 4dose in a week and don't know what to do. The top of my feet and ankles hurt way more that my arches. My feet ache all the time at test. So worried 😟

I am 8 months in out of 12 and this past month I am having severe heel pain. I tried all OTC remedies and no relief.

I also have gained weight since starting. I know I am younger than the majority of people on this, 42, but has anyone else gained weight?

Have had issues with my feet in the past, (Hammertoes and ball of foot pain. Its been very manageable with proper shoes . I took full course of Evenity in 2025 and did not notice increase in foot pain, but had some sciatica after treatment ended. Had good spine gains on Evenity. I am currently on Prolia to get some gains in hips. ( first dose end of April '26.) With Prolia, I am experiencing and increase in foot pain. It is with the right foot that has the worst issue. I also have increase in sciatica. It seems to involve the nerves . It seems these drugs not only build bone, but amplify and irritate our weaknesses.

I’m a little confused about you saying infusion. Evenity is an injection.

@kristie2 I go to Mayo Phoenix Infusion Center to get my Evenity Injection, 1/2 in my right arm and 1/2 in my left. If I go on Reclast after this, will go to the same location, however that will be an actual infusion.

I certainly do. The bottom of my heel is tender every morning as I first sit my feet on the floor. Also when I sit down for a while. It goes away after walking.
