Anyone developed pain in feet from Evenity?

Posted by rita @ritabtripp, Jul 23, 2024

I have had 5 doses of Evenity and a couple months ago started having discomfort in my heels and balls and my feet have gotten progressively worse. My weight hasn’t changed (I’m not overweight), I wear good shoes with inserts and I have stopped all exercise that would exacerbate the pain. Initially the pain was only obvious if I was barefoot and now it hurts to walk even with my running shoes. It doesn’t feel like plantar fasciitis but I’m taping my toe and doing stretches to treat plantar fasciitis just in case. But the only thing that has really changed in my life has been starting on Evenity. Anyone else had this response to Evenity?

TO ALL THAT HAVE SIDE EFFECTS NOT LISTED IN THE WRITTEN INSTRUCTIONS PROVIDED TO YOU INITIALLY FROM THE ACTUAL DRUG COMPANY!!!!
I was strongly told to please report these to your dr and the FDA . The only way these other side effects will ever get posted in the instructions , so all would be aware , is if ENOUGH PEOPLE using a particular drug report it !!! IT WILL HAVE TO BECOME STATISTICALLY SIGNIFICANT.
This also goes for those recently reporting that Tymlos and Forteo are seeing an increase in their abdominal circumference. Giving them a pooch stomach.
Let’s help our community at large get all the information about these drugs and their side effects!!!

Hello, I started noticing feet pain around my 10 injection. My 12th injection was at the end of May, and I am still experiencing pain in both of my feet. I did not have feet pain before starting Evenity. Hopefully, over the course of the next few months the pain will go away. I had to be on antibiotics almost the entire time I received the injections because I could not fight off even the common cold. When I go to my specialist next month, I am going to request a half a dose of Reclast and then receive the second half in six months. I am hoping she will be willing to do this.

I agree in that we all need to report the side effects we have experienced to help others. Good luck to you all. I am so grateful for Evenity because my numbers have improved but I am even more grateful to be off of it.

I was diagnosed with plantar fasciitis, which could very well be likely. The onset of it was shortly after starting Evenity. Therefore, I am not sure that the drug company would consider it to be a result of their drug since plantar fasciitis is fairly common in my age group

I appreciate you sharing your experience. I had plantar fasciitis years ago and have since worn custom inserts. It doesn’t feel like plantar fasciitis but just in case, I am doing all the stretches to treat it. That hasn’t helped yet. I know Evenity can cause pain in joints, but this feels like pain in the bone of my heel and ball of my feet. It feels like u gave severely bruised them but since I didn’t do anything to cause bruising I have to think it’s a dude effect. I appreciate everyone chiming in to share their experience

I have broken bones in both feet requiring surgery in 9 months and I started Evenity in January

This is so wild, all these comments & responses. I go for my 6th infusion on Friday. I had SEVERE reactions to Evenity thru infusion #5….similar to long COVID. Those symptoms have resolved …however, I’ve developed a recurrence of extremely painful Achilles tendinitis radiating to my heel …originally diagnosed about 8-10 years ago. Am uncomfortable all the time & hate having to put shoes on. Anything that touches that point is excruciating, so need to wear clogs or boots that end above that part of the ankle. Never even made the connection in my mind to the Evenity, but it explains the reason for this recurrence. Frightening. The thing that bothers me the most is how often all the docs I see defer to the benefits, yet wave off complaints regarding side effects. It’s disheartening.

I’m a little confused about you saying infusion. Evenity is an injection.

You’re right; injection - sorry, I go to the Infusion/Cancer Center for my injections…my verbiage was a little screwed up when I posted yesterday. Apologies ☮️

I developed plantar fasciitis shortly after beginning Evenity shots. I never made an association but now that I am reading this, it could be linked to Evenity. I am 7 injections in so we’ll see if it resolves.
I went for PT a few months back which helped and I continue to do stretches

@gretch19 same here, though Drs said it was unrelated to Evenity. (I suspect it was since it started shortly after i started taking).
It eventually resolved after PT and stretches. Also got orthotics for PF on amazon which help maintain.
