Anyone travel to Mayo Clinic for complex back/hip pain?

Hello everyone,
I am looking to connect with anyone who has traveled to Mayo Clinic with complex, overlapping chronic back and hip pain.
I live in Canada and have already gone through multiple treatments and imaging scans locally, but my case remains an undiagnosed puzzle. I am looking for a deep diagnostic dive to find the root cause and map out a non-surgical, functional rehabilitation plan.
If you have been in a similar situation, I would love to hear about your experience:
Which campus did you choose? (I am strongly leaning toward Rochester, MN due to their diagnostic reputation).
How successful were they at untangling your hip vs. spine pain? Did they catch anything your local doctors missed on your previous scans?

I had been to my local area and also to a university close to me and they said that I needed fusion surgery for my spinal stenosis. I then wanted another opinion and went to Mayo. They agreed that I had severe spinal stenosis, but that my right hip was even worse. It was bone on bone. So I had right hip replacement done at Mayo and it has taken away about 50% of my pain. They wanted to do that before they touch the back. They also discovered that I had osteoporosis because they use a CT scan to check for it. Locally they said I had osteopenia. I finish my osteoporosis drug in October and then I’ll find next steps to help with my spinal stenosis. So going to Mayo was crucial for me because nobody else had diagnosed my right hip issue or the osteoporosis.

I’m glad you are doing better and thank you for your feedback. Do you know which department you entered and how they managed the process to get to your diagnosis? I’m assuming you came from out of town.
