Does anyone feel old and useless with age?

Hi, I'm almost 64.. I'm feeling old and useless. My strength isn't good anymore. Like it used to be mainly side effects of meds. My health is poor with cvsd. Osteoporosis, poor circulation, hearing , eyesight, you name it's going. I always took care of myself. Now I've gotten older and everything's wrong, my grandkids don't a want me around and they are little still. No friends to talk with or do things with. Why is it we spend our lifetime taking care of family. Loving friends to end up , old and tired. Useless.

Hello, I hope this day has brought you a little Joy and hope. Just wondering how do up send your days. Sometimes just having a routine may help out with that helpless feeling keep busy doing something you like.

Sometimes our attitude can make the difference in how we age and who wants to be around us. As difficult as it is, we must accept what we cannot change. The one thing in our life that is fully under our control is our attitude.

Important to try to see the positives of life. Listen to music and try to play a game on zoom. I am 93 year old and still drive, play golf do aerobic exercise and yes I can feel my age. I try to be very positive and I play bridge on zoom and also do wordle each day. Try to be positive you are younger than me, so try to enjoy life. Good luck

Maybe see your doctor about depression. I'm 70 and (so far) going on 2 years cleared of pancreatic cancer. I think of myself as older, not old. I know many people in 80s and 90s. THEY are old and older. 😉

Also useless means used less. Go use your body more and fill up your time. There is always a soup kitchen or suicide hotline that can use the help. No one is "useless" unless they decide to be.

The great unknown of tomorrow with all it's potential and all it's possibilities is always waiting for us. We just have to embrace it for all it's worth and make it ours!
