Nerve Stimulation for Neurogenic Bladder
Has anyone ever done ( and had success with ) Nerve Stimulation, or Neuromodulation, for Neurogenic bladder? I am currently using intermittent catheters but have been reading about neuro stimulation to treat bladder control for both overactive and underactive bladder and would like to explore this option,

I have never heard of this before, but will look into it. I’m also using intermittent catheters. I have the interstim implant, but still getting recurring UTIS. Really interested in any finding a solution to this problem. Will surely post if I come up with something helpful.

1 ReactionIt sounds like Interstim may be what I am referencing. Not sure if there are also other options. My issue neurogenic bladder, not overactive bladder, so I am wondering if Interstim can help. I can feel when I need to go, I just can’t. Interstim seems to be geared more towards overactive bladder, but I will find out more. You say you are using intermittent caths. Is your situation neurogenic? Aside from the UTI’s does Interstim help reduce the number of times you have to cath?
Yes, I have neurogenic bladder, and have the Instertim, and now I’m voiding more on my own. I was only cathetarizing twice a day, but was getting the UTIS more often. Since May, I’ve had three episodes, so my Urologyst increased Catheter use to four times a day. I’ll keep you updated on my progress. Wish me luck.
