Evenity after bad side effects from both Tymlos and Prolia

I was on Tymlos and had difficulty with it as well. It gave me severe nausea and vomiting after several days of the 1st injection. I am now on Evenity infusions. I experience exhaustion with each infusion, and sleep for 18 hours afterwards. I just plan for it now and am able to deal with it.

Had one Evenity shot. Just sore arms. Will watch for exhaustion as didn’t realize that could be a side affect

I began my journey with Reclast infusions c. 2011 and, including the last one in June, have had no adverse reactions.

I started Tymlos in late 2022; it had pretty debilitating side effects. I refused to take it after 9-1/2 months of PT, pain management, Zofran, ibuprofen, acetaminophen, more ibuprofen, more acetaminophen . . . trying to convince my doc that the med was the culprit in my agony - he said my reactions weren't listed on the Tymlos website. I felt, at different times, he thought my various maladies were mental, not physical. Anyway . . .

In July, 2023, I took my first Evenity shots and never looked back. No issues except for that pesky "shot arm" pain for a couple of days. My DEXA in 2025 showed great gains. As a note: I used Tymlos for 9-1/2 months and Evenity for a full twelve months, so I can't be 100% sure which of these meds worked better for me.

I am so sorry for your discomfort. We do have to persevere, so we don't grow old and roll over and break. I'm trying Evenity but it is NOT easy! Still, if I can drink lots and lots and lots of water, I do better. Are you drinking enough?
I've found a nice senior site for shape with Lauren and feel better after I stretch and lift a little weight. Keep working. Eight months to go!

Thank you, I do drink a lot of water normally and exercise. I haven’t started Evenity yet, as I delayed until the end of September due to travel!! One last hoorah!!

Hi, what were your debilitating side effects from Tymlos? I am feeling generally unwell, back muscle pain, hip pain, some nausea and difficulty sleeping , 9 weeks into it, 6 clicks nightly.

I only took one shot of Tymlos and within 10 minutes developed sharp pain in my stomach and back along with back spasms. It lasted on and off for about 15-20 minutes. My doctor told me not to take it and is switching me to Evenity. I have not started the Evenity yet.

I’m sorry to hear of your issues.

I had unrelenting and severe back spasms and shoulder pain, 24/7 nausea, racing heart, a feeling that I was walking on a broken ankle, chest pains, inability to take a deep breath because my chest hurt too much.

When I was prescribed Tymlos, titration was unheard of, so I was at 8 clicks from the jump.

Tymlos does work for some of us, just not me (or you).
