Improvement in kidney numbers after completing AI treatment?

I have read these posts with interest for sure. I was on Anastrozole after double mastectomy for 10 years and have been off 1 year - it seems like so many in this group - my GFR went down and creatinine went up - I get blood work this coming mid-September - I'm curious if anyone has seen improvement in the kidney numbers after being off the Anastrozole? During my time on the med, my oncologist was certainly aware of my blood work but was not concerned.

What a great question. It seems like there are not as many of us who complete a long course of treatment on anastrazole but for those who do there are some long term effects.
I was young when I started all of my treatments, five years of tamoxifen then anastrazole, so to be fair I can’t blame everything on anastrazole. I also had decreased kidney function that did get better after treatment. It took a year of staying hydrated for sure, but it did not return completely to normal. I have always had to be careful to remain hydrated.
Did you get the drop in kidney function right away or some years in?

@Hi - my kidney function started down right away and just held the course at the same drop for all 10 years. I was not on any other medication beside that for thyroid and calcium. I stay hydrated for sure!
