Best adult diapers/pads for post prostate surgery

Posted by bkop @bkop, Aug 10, 2025

My husband is having his prostate removed soon and is very worried about managing incontinence. Please share what adult diapers/pads worked best for you (absorption, odor, comfort) immediately after the catheter was removed and then during further recovery. Thank you!

I use the “Because” brand overnight diapers and Depend diapers during the day. But, as many people in this chat have mentioned, there are many brands and options to choose from.

One other thing I’ve found very useful is the Dekor EKO Classic Diaper Pail, which you can purchase through Amazon. It provides a sanitary, odor-free way to temporarily store used diapers indoors for several days before disposing of them.

I am due to have a radical prostatectomy in early September. Can anyone give me guidance on what the best "men's diapers" are for the first weeks after catheter removal. My search shows so many options and I was wondering what most men find work the best. I appreciate any advice.

I don't know your surgery date, but I strongly recommend some Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy, preferably with a DPT. I did this for a few weeks prior to my RALP as well as afterwards. I actually had NO incontinence.

I wish you all the best.
