Any suggestions for expelling tenacioius mucus plugs?

Posted by coffcoff @coffcoff, Dec 26, 2024

Despite drinking lots of fluids (mostly water) and using 7% saline in my Aerobica twice a day, my CT scans consistently show mucus plugs deep in my lungs. Maybe it's because I live in such a dry climate (southern AZ) but I have a difficult time getting phlegm up. I'd appreciate any suggestions. Thanks!

she said on the back after nebulizing... I agree it's not the easiest thing to do but I tried but didnt seem to do anything. She wasn't very specific and I couldn't find any other helpful hints on technique.
she did say I needed to do more so I have been using the Aerobika, first as an attachment to the nebulizer kit and then separately while I was nebulizing, alternating between the two. I also try to thump myself on the chest while doing it. All that seemed to help a little.

@sayaboleh I agree that self percussion helps also.
I do the chest area on either side of my breast bone and then bend my elbows to reach my back and "pound" with my closed hands on either side of my spine. It helps.
