Has anyone tried or knows anything of someone who has tried DMSO ?

DMSO is coming up in my discussion with nurses in my family. Is it safe ? Does it help inflammatory conditions like PMR or conditions in the families of arthritis? Is it for pain? Is it a topical? Is it an inhalation drug? Is it oral. Please comment it you can.

DMSO works very well. I used it for a torn shoulder tendon. The only problem is the smell and constant taste.
You also need to be careful when applying it or taking it otherwise, that everything be sterile as dmso will pull in any bacteria, with it, into your body. Also as it permeates the skin barrier so quickly, it is tough on the skin. Aloe Vera and hydro cortisone help for that.

I have PA and Lupus. I also have degenerative disc disease and have had 2 back surgeries so far.

To get through the pain to my first ( and all subsequent surgeries) back surgery, my pain doctor put me on a specialty pain cream. It works as well as a cortisone shot and is comprised of Keto + MSM+ DMSO. The DMSO Helps with the pain but it is also a carrier that guarantees it will get into your skin and in the joint. Talk to a pain doctor. They should be able to come up with a similar cream by working with a lead specialty pharmacist. It is best as you aren’t ingesting it and there are no side effects!

The other thing that works wonderfully for me for my osteo and degenerative issues is Pentosan. It does have risks though.

Good luck!

Interesting about the DMSO. I have recently purchased it and a book on how to use it safely. I have had recent injuries to rotator cuff and chronic knee pain I am hoping to treat. I have RA and just started Orencia infusions since I don't tolerate oral meds.
