Has anyone had TKR at age 86?

Would like to read some success stories and/or difficult experiences about TKR for older people like me. I am 86 and planning TKR in 6-8 months. Would like to hear from someone who had this surgery who is this old.

@lynnn I'm halfway down the east coast in a small town called Sebastian. It's right next to Vero Beach where I spend most of my time when I go out to doctors, restaurants and other errands. I worked in Toronto for 2 1/2 years. I really loved the city. So clean and safe, at least it was when I worked there in the early 1990's. Someday I would like to take the Trans-Canadian train from Montreal to Vancouver. 😊

@bussysconsultant I had a friend in Vero Beach. That train journey would be fantastic. But I read it is preferred to board somewhere further west to avoid the miles of monotonous plains. I believe the train is quite
luxurious. We moved up here as our daughter and family are in Ottawa - we are in a suburb. We are dual citizens. I have had five surgeries here since 2016 and have not paid a cent. I hope I don’t need any more!

@lynnn That's great about your healthcare. I've had two surgeries but luckily I only had to pay a copay for a 4 day maximum.
